      So doing maintenance on a 94 Nissan sentra that just got my mom. front brakes had lot of drag, but wheel moved if you gave it gas.

      Removed caliper slide pins and clean hole they went in.
      wire brushed pins and caliper contact area.
      cleaned up retainer springs.
      lubed slides and hole.
      lubed contact springs.

      question 1:
      cleaned pads with brake clean, but its like oil keeps coming to the top. I clean then wait and wipe off oil? used whole can of brake clean they are not doing it as much.

      put retainer springs back on caliper.

      question 2:
      pads should slide in easy to retainer spring right? I had to tap them in after fighting to get them to fit.

      slide pins work great

      still lot of brake drag.

      more questions:
      should I get a hardware kit and or new pads?
      or die grind ends of pads?

        All brake pads are not created equal.I would replace the pads
        with another brand like wagner or bedix. a quality brand. see
        if they better. Also put antisieze on the end of the pads. more
        in this link.

          As pointed out brake pad quality can vary a great deal. That said, you might have a caliper issue. You also need to make sure you use the correct lubricants when you do the brake service. If not, braking problems can result.

            I loved this video the first time I seen it, its very informative. only thing I did not do was lube the pad ends. I for got.

            Has any one else ever heard of using sand paper/grinder on ends of pads to make them fit better?

            this things are tight before the caliper and do not want to move.

            the brakes are cheap enough I plan on changing them. I was just wonder why/how to fix as they are still beefy.

              contact area of pads had mass corrosion cleaned on wire wheel lubed up went in like butter. drag fixed, still plan on replacing due to oil contamination.
