camshaft sprocket and timing belt replacement

Hello !

I took my Mitsubishi pajero 2015 3.8 L to replace timing belt . he said I should also replace camshaft sprockets and no need replace water pump !!!!!!
I actually want to replace the timing belt myself but i am afraid of destroying my engine .

should I replace camshaft sprockets and leave the water pump .

Unless the cam sprockets are damaged, why replace them. replace the water pump.
