Looking for leads to good quality car care products. If you’ve missed my other posts, I’ve got an 03 Suburban that needs some aesthetic TLC.

1 – Plastic restoration and protection. I’m in a sun belt, so UV protection a must.

Hi A Spruce,

I use Griot’s Garage https://www.griotsgarage.com

It is expensive but I have used it over 20 years and have yet to find a better quality product. I added a few items you should use if you want to do a full deep clean/rehab on a vehicle. I have used all of these products and have no affiliation with Griots (just a happy customer). They have other items on their website but wanted to provide a comprehensive list in the event you need to quickly select items. Hope this helps! -Patrick

Exterior:
1 – Body Wash
CAR WASH ITEM# 11102 (super concentrated only need a small amount per bucket)
BUG & SMUDGE REMOVER ITEM# 10982 (best I have used for removing bug jerky)
IRON & FALLOUT REMOVER ITEM# 1094 (for brake dust deposits and other particles on paint)

2 – Plastic restoration
BLACK SHINE™ TRIM RESTORER, 8 OUNCES ITEM# 10858

3 – Plastic protection – non-greasy
VINYL & RUBBER DRESSING ITEM# 10981 (use on interior plastic for UV protection too)

4 – Aluminum wheel care – cleaners and polish
HEAVY-DUTY WHEEL CLEANER ITEM# 11026
Iron fallout from above also good on wheels
WHEEL CLEANING CLAY, 7 OUNCES ITEM# 11035 (if heavy cleaning needed)

5 – Body wax (requires paint prep products)
PAINT CLEANING CLAY, 8 OUNCES ITEM# 11153 (deep cleans paint, use after first wash)
SPEED SHINE ITEM# 11146 (required for the paint cleaning clay process)
COMPLETE POLISH, 16 OUNCES ITEM# 10876 (only use for the first polish to remove paint imperfections)
LIQUID GLOSS POLY WAX, 16 OUNCES ITEM# 10916 (after the polish process)

Interior:
1 – Plastic restoration and protection. I’m in a sun belt, so UV protection a must.
INTERIOR CLEANER ITEM# 11104 (good cleaner for plastic items, not designed for protection, use the dressing for that purpose once clean)
INTERIOR DETAILER ITEM# 10975 (good for maintaining protection without a greasy coating)

2 – Upholstery cleaning, products, methods
CARPET SPOT REMOVER, 18 OUNCES ITEM# 11375 (use on stains, the next cleaner is for all other areas)
CARPET CLEANER ITEM# 10997 (use a scrub brush with handle and scrub once cleaner is placed on carpet, vacuum before cleaning and vacuum at the end as well)

3 – lubricants for seat mechanisms
This is the only item Griots does not have to my knowledge. I would recommend Super Lube 21030 Translucent White Color 3 oz. tube for seat tracks. Super Lube offers numerous products and all I have tried are top notch. This is also available on Amazon.
