Hey Eric,good morning. I’m having a CEL problem on my 2006 Chrysler Pacifica 3.5, 75,000 miles
The scan showed code P0456, which was some small evap leak. So I was told by a mechanic friend to replace the gas cap and reset the code, which I did. That was about 2 weeks ago. Now after driving about 150 miles, the CEL came back on. I haven’t had a chance to check the new code yet, but I suspect it may be the same. The car acts totally fine just the annoying CEL light. My buddy thinks maybe I should replace the gas tank filler neck next.I’ll let you know what the code is later today when I check it and see where to go from there.
Well, I’ll be staying dirty.

Well, the code was p0456 again. So I’ve been doing homework and i think it may be the lines to the nvld or canister or something. There’s also some line under the air filter box.
I was looking under the car and I see all the lines I’ve read about, only everything looks practically brand new down there. The YouTube chatter is the plastic joints where the pipes bend is where the air leaks are to be found….or right on the fuel pump…..which is weird cause I’ve seen 2 in research. Really have no interest in dropping the tank to get at them.
A P0456 is a leak in the evap system on the TANK side not the canister side. You would be looking for a leak in the gas tank or the tubs going to it. Don’t bother looking to the canister side of things. FYI, aftermarket gas caps don’t always work out. You may want to try an OE cap if you can’t find a leak in the tank or the pipes connected to it.
