i got a 92 geo storm from my friend not all too long ago the only problem is there is something out of wack in the clutch. the car wont move after realising the clutch and its not me just failing at it. i pulled the transmission to look at the clutch and it appeared it was over tight. the fingers were depresed. so i re torqed them to the right setting at 13 foot pounds. i also looked at the friction plate it wasnt all to preaty but i have seen worse that work. checked the trans. the guy i got it from put this trans in and it was out of a gsi but the bellhousing matched up and the trans felt fine any sugjestions

Check for leak on the master and slave cylinder. (brake pump)

Is it cable or hydraulic operated?

its cable operated. however this is not the isue the pedal feels fine plus the clutch fork is to hard to push so i know the pressure plate is still good and i am sure the friction plate is still good. i think it is something in the transmission. but i am not completey sure if it is or not. i have it in first gear and both axles still both move. but the clutch pack all looks good.

Synchro ring could really be your issue. But, try transmission conditioner before changing this gears or the transmission itself.

Also, did you see a magnet in the oil pan to catch the metal from the transmission. Check if you need to replace a transmission filter or not. Maybe you have something in the oil If all seem functional but you can’t shift to one gears to the next before you change your transmission. You can try before changing your transmission a transmission conditioner. TranX or Lucas transmission fix.
