Use a breaker bar and the correct socket/extension.

I’ve done this a few times in a pinch and it works great but, I don’t like doing it when I don’t have too.

unfortunately not as I can’t keep the pulley from spinning.

Are you using an electric or air impact?_x000D_
                _x000D_
Some electric impacts just dont cut it in my own experience.

I was actually thinking of trying Beffy’s suggestion and Dreamer I was using air and it did nothing what so ever. and since I removed some stuff above the crank pulley and took off the front half of the pulley (the parts that hold the v and serp belts) I

Heat up the bolt with blow torch – make sure to not to heat up too much to trash the crankshaft seal – but heck if you ruin that $5 seal, just replace it.

DON’T BUMP THE STARTER. The timing belt is broken and that is a zero tolerance engine. If you turn the motor over now you will cause valve damage. Go buy or borrow a strap wrench and use it to hold the harmonic balancer still. A long breaker bar will help

If it was me, I would just go get a stronger impact driver.

Many interesting suggestions here but instead of going at it from the front of the engine why not the back?
