      Gents:

The car is a 1999 Honda CRV with 400 000 km, and a few things have stopped working in the driver’s door.

As you can see in the images there are many broken wires in the connector near the door’s hinges. Repeated flexing of the wires no doubt.

I think I’ve got enough wire to solder the wires back on to the pins and slip the pins back into the connector.

But I cannot seem to unlock the pins from the plastic body of the connector.

I think you slip a special Honda “De-Pin” tool into the slot just above where the male blade enters the pin

Please help with with removing these pins. Thanks.

If it’s like the 92-95 civic you have to remove the pin lock guard and then using a paper clip or some other pointed tool

          Thanks AngrySmileyFace.

I do have the Honda Factory Workshop Manual for my car and believe that I’m dealing with Connector C557

It may have that secondary lock. I’m bot yet sure.

The connector is different, but the same principles should apply.

              Thanks DaFirnz.

I think the connector in the video is quite different and may have a very different secondary lock, but the principles do seem the same as you’ve written.

Also, I’m having trouble finding the C557 wiring code so I can put the broken wire back into the correct connector cavity.

If anyone can find the wiring code for connector C557 for a 1999 Honda CRV, please share it with me.

              With thanks and appreciation………….

                Hi Gents:

Here is an example of the wiring code that I need for my 1999 CRV door jam connector.

The attached example is for a Civic.

Does anyonehave this type of information for my 1999 CRV

                Much thanks……………….

                  Hello All:

To wrap up this thread, I think I found an American Honda Connector Guide page that seems correct for my 1999 Honda CRV.

                  As attached.

Now it remains to do the “pin work”.
