I am a newbie to paint, I have most most of the kit. But I don’t have a compressor with an air drier. My question is can you paint successfully without one?

You can paint without an air drier. If you live in a humid
area. you do risk the chance of water in the lines. They make
portable desiccant driers that attach at the gun.keep your
        compressor drained.

Yes air driers are good…Use them on the gun and 30 ft down from the compressor…
