Fixing my exhaust leaks, got a new pipe to replace the one that rattles…
Also i hose clamped the cat heat shields. And upon removing the farthest right fastener I found it to be not even tight… and its broken below the surface of the head:
And here you can see I have already removed and replaced the two broken studs:
And here is the exhaust manifold removed (I also removed and re-tapped the bolt i snapped while removing heatshield):
Main questions:
How much should it cost to plane the exhaust manifold? As it is quite badly warped.
How would I clean/prep the head for gasket mating? Currently its coated in soot/carbon where the exhaust leak was.
Can I re-use the head-to-manifold gasket? And can i also re-use the manifold-to-downpipe gasket?
Anything else I can try to remove the stuck bolt? I already tried (in order) : drilling, easy out (broke inside ofc), more drilling, punch technique.
If I can’t get it out, how much would a shop charge to remove it?Other than that really annoying bolt, everything else is going well…
