I posted this on YouTube after installment #2 of Fixing It Forward on the Contour, but it is worth posting it here.

Anyone working on older cars has broken an electrical connector i there attempts to repair something. Ford/Motorcraft has a fairly complete listing of all electrical connector used in the past 10-20 years(?). These are not just “shells”, but a complete connector with about a 6″ pigtail to splice into the old harness.

Here is a link to the Ford/Motorcraft catalog of pigtails

Google either the Motorcraft part number or the Ford part number (xx-xxxxx-xx). Also use the Part Number Search on Rock Auto (do not enter a manufacturer).

The older Ford alternators in the 1980s and early 1990s came with a new rectangular plug in.This plug in was well known for burning up and was part of the warranty to replace it with the new alternator.Have to be careful with some of these fuel injector plugs in the 2000 era Fords, brittle and break real easy.

Saved. I have an 07 F-150 where someone diddled with the headlights. I could see needing new connectors if mine ever deteriorate. Thanks a lot.
