I’m doing what Eric said in his Youtube video, but when I hook up the volt meter the way he describes, it will give a reading for about 10 seconds and then automatically drop to zero without disturbing the leads…. Whats the problem? Bad Voltmeter maybe? It’s a Inova brand Voltage Meter BTW…

Also the car is a 1969 El Camino.

If that El Camino is in relatively stock form, that zero would probably be acurate. The Elky isn’t going to have any technology in it that requires key off voltage except for maybe a clock if they even built one into the dash.

Is the car draining the battery overnight? Or are you doing the parasitic draw test out of curiosity?

What reading does the meter show before it goes to zero?
