Have a 99 honda civic ex 1.6sohc automatic that has a P1362 (cel) code. Top dead center sensor(no signal) wondering where to begin looking heard it could be distributor or an actual sensor itself.?

I believe that sensor is in the distributor. There are 3 sensors in the distributor. Hondas can run with 2 of the 3 working. I would do further testing, but i do know they go out.

A+ on the above post. That sensor lives in the distributor and is non serviceable. If after you troubleshoot
you find the sensor bad. use an Honda OE dizzy. The aftermarket dizzys are known to cause problems.
Heres two links to help with the diagnostic of the sensor.C8-)

If you already have an aftermarket distributor on the car it’s likely that is the cause of the code, I also recommend changing it out with an OE unit and NOT use an aftermarket one.
