Hi everybody! I’ve got a 2002 base 3.4l v6 Chevy Impala. I’m looking to add a little pep in the old girls step bolt ons etc. to start. I’d like to keep the car running long enough to EVENTUALLY do an engine/tranny swap . Upgrade the tires, suspension, tower brace, brakes, frame stiffeners, exhaust the whole nine yards. She’s got 136000 miles and well taken care of. So some day she’s gotta be reborn as a sleeper. My first project car. Anywho in the mean time, what are some sites or YouTube channels based on the Impala I can use to learn the skills to realize my build?

This website (that’s all about chevy impalas) should be a good place to start! 😛 http://www.impalas.net/

It looked like they had a performance section in their forums, so I would look around there.

I used to have a 2003 Imapla LS with the 3.8. That car moved pretty good. I always wanted an 04/05 SS, someday…

Sounds like you are on the right track, get the basics done first – brakes/suspension – then go for performance. You could always look into dropping an LS1 in there http://www.superchevy.com/features/0303gmh-2000-ls1-powered-impala-ss-feature/#photo-05 lol

          Good luck with the build!

You should see if there’s anything in the Impala 9C1 and 9C3 police packages that might interest you. Some police-spec equipment can be a good way to build a sleeper, and since it comes from the vehicle’s manufacturer, you know it should fit and work properly.

It would have been better if you had the 3.8l. Lot more power and aftermarket upgrades available.
