      So, how many of us have broken BVSV’s (Bi-Metallic Vacuum Switching Valve)… well they may be a bit dated, but I see them from time to time… Often broken… as they age, they get very brittle and a slight movement or removal of the vacuum hose will snap them…. An adjustable wrench is a risky choice for removal…

      Here is my story…

      Working on a Toyota one day, I broke one… The replacement was going to be $67 dollars from the dealership…. Way too expensive… I can get one from a pick and pull for $1.00 but here is the problem… Often those in scrapyards are brittle as well… Trying to remove one with an adjustable wrench and even being careful is no guarantee… so instead of paying Mr. Snap on (who I don’t think sells one anyway…) I made my own tool with an air cutting wheel and an old socket bought from a flea market for 25 cents…

      It works absolutely perfect and keeps from damaging the BVSV….
