I have 2004 Suzuki Verona. Car cranks but no sparks. What is the proper checking of voltage at the wiring to the coil with ohm meter? Or how the coils could be tested. This car has individual coil over each spark plugs.

      History:
Motor oil was seeping from valve cover car gasket into sparkplug chambers/cavities. One day the car stopped working behind a traffic light. I thought the plugs are saturated/soaked with oil since the car was cranking but wouldn’t start/fire-up.

I changed the valve cover and cleaned up spark plugs and coils. The cranks but won’t start. I checked for spark and there is not any.

Well there is a bypass test where you actually use a test light on the signal wire and it will tell you if the sensor is good or bad

How would I have to do the test?

          What is the test light?

I have a test light for testing battery (or current) and one for testing spark. Would any of these two test lights work or I need to purchase a special test light?

          Thank you.

I did the following tests with voltmeter and made me really confused. Then at the end I used the OBD-II reader and now added the P0337 code “Crankshaft Position Sensor ‘A’ Circuit Low Input” to the remaining .

Starting with unplugged Crank Sensor, placed the voltmeter on AC Volts and tested the plug toward the Crank Sensor.

Placed the voltmeter leads on the Positive (Ref. Hi) and Signal (Ref. Low) terminals and cranked the engine. 1.56 AC voltage reading.

Placed the voltmeter leads on the Ground and Signal (Ref. Low) terminals and cranked the engine. 0.5 AC voltage reading.

Placed the voltmeter leads on the Positive (Ref. Hi) and Ground terminals and cranked the engine. 0.5 AC voltage reading.

Placed the Ohm meter leads on the Positive (Ref. Hi) and Signal (Ref. Low) terminals. 0.594 K-Ohm.
Placed the Ohm meter leads on the Ground and Signal (Ref. Low) terminals. Open Loop Circuit
