Just wondering if any one has had this problem. A while back i purchased brake rotors from a popular auto parts store. Not sure I can mention name here. I purchased the top of the line rotors for a Nissan Sentra 2007 front wheel drive. I had to special order and wait a day. To my surprise the complete rotor was painted. I asked about this because far as I know you dont want anything on the brake surface. They said it was a powder coating and that i didnt need to remove it and that it would come off on its own. I put these rotors on and right a way I experienced shuddering when trying to stop. Since i didnt have time to remove them , I drove vehicle that week and removed them the following weekend. As I expected, The pads and the rotors had that paint embedded in the shoes and rotors. You could see where the shoes werent making good contact. Wish I had taken pictures. So I spent the afternoon cleaning shoes and rotors which took a while. The vehicle seemed to do ok except for when trying to stop at a higher speed. I thought maybe it would get better however it got worse. So last week I took rotors off once again and exchanged them for a new set and of course I replaced shoes too. this time a bought a slightly cheaper set minus the paint because the better one had paint. So far so good. They did refund my money so all is good there. Just hate wasting my time like that. Just wondering if anyone else had this problem. Store says no one else has had this problem. Just hard to believe.
