RPM problem with 2002 Acura RSX with a K20A3..

Hi Eric !

I’m writing here for a friend who does not speak a word of english.

He bought a 2002 Acura RSX with a K20A3 as a “rebuild project” (the body is kinda in a bad shape, the last owner’s girlfriens was pissed at him and kinda played with a hammer on a few fenders…)

Now, the problem he’s facing is the engine is not revving past 4000 RPM

As we don’t have a single clue about Acura or Honda in general, what could be a possible cause of that?
