      hello,

I drive a 2000 mitsubishi eclipse with the V6 engine… The spark plug wire on cylinder #6 keeps pooping out from the spark plug, the wire fits tight in the spark plug but it keeps popping off every 5 minutes of driving. I’ve replaced the spark plug and the problem persists. any idea what would cause this?

      thanks in advance.

I’m no expert, but I’d probably try changing the wires themselves next.

If the wires are in good shape, then I would observe the engine as it is being revved at idle and see what could be going on.

If the wires are not in good shape then obviously replace them.

check that the spark plug is not loose causing
            pressure in the tube.

++++1 to what college man suggested.

Sometimes the terminal connector on cheap wires gets pushed inside the wire boot and does not clip on to the spark plug terminal or the clip is damaged. It will never stay on if that’s the case.

Sometimes if you hold the boot tight in one hand and push the wire into the boot with the other you can repair this.

More than likely you will need to install a new set of wires.
