      Hi guys,
2008 Honda FIT with a busted lock cylinder.

The key stuck going in, and so I gently pulled it out. Repeated… And now the key goes I easy… And does NOT turn…

I have the pulled off two components which appear to block in the cylinder (I think they are the immobilizer parts of the assembly)

I can’t get this core out. Is there a trick?

      I’m kinda stranded…

        Things to try
        1) Different key
        2) Jiggle steering wheel
3)Graphite based lock lubricant, such as Lock Ease
When using Lock Ease you will insert and remove the key a number of times

If these things fail, then your choices become
        A) Drill out the lock cylinder
        B)Call a locksmith

When it comes to drilling out the lock… Any pointers or warnings? I have it down to where the core of the cylinder is right there.. Just terrified I’ll go too deep or setoff the airbag trying to remove the steering wheel to get the whole module out.

The very first thing to do when working with anything that could trigger the airbag is to disable the airbags and allow sufficient time for any airbag capacitors to self discharge..
I’m sure a google search will help you to find the exact procedure.
This youtuber shows how to replace the ignition lock without drilling the cylinder.

No guarantees that it will work for your vehicle.
