Hello to all,
I am a current owner of a Subaru Tribeca 08 w 119,000 miles , only issues have been struts andconstant headlight replacements, other wise super happy w tis car , however just moved and now putting 24 miles on this ea day, so milage will start to climb rapidly. I think I want to try a newer Subaru, but no nothing on specs of the outbacks, engine oil issues, or any other negatives about the 2.5 L engines. Can anyone shed light on the outback, I so appreciate any feedback. I want to stick w Subaru , I need a reliable AWD in snow conditions.

There have been some refinements to the 2.5 that you may not be aware of. The biggest is dropping the timing belt and going with a timing chain so you won’t have to worry about replacing that after 100k. As far as your 25 mile commute goes 25 a day is not that far I am putting 100 a day on my 98 outback without a worry.
