THANK YOU FOR YOUR KIND CONSIDERATIONS. AFTER READING EVERYONES INPUT I DID CHANGE THE OIL AGAIN TO THE CORRECT SPECS 5W-30W, ITS MY FIRST NEW CAR THE GRAND VITARA SUSUKI, 4CYCL, 4W DRI, 2010; AND I WANT TO DO PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE ON IT, ESPECIALLY THE COOLING SYSTEM, OFTEN GETS NEGLECTED BY THE PROFESSIONAL MECHANICS SHOPS BECAUSE ITS TIME CONSUMING;; THE HEATER CORE;THE ENGINE BLOCK; AND THE RADIATOR NEEDS A POWER BLAST WITH DISTILLED WATER, SO HOW DO I DO IT MYSELF? I THOUGHT TO USE GALLONS OF DISTILLED WATER WHEN FLUSHING THE RADIATOR, HEATER CORE AND THE ENGINE, THEN, BLOWING IT THROUGH WITH MY 3 GAL PANCAKE AIR COMPRESSOR. WHAT ARE YOUR OBSERVATIONS ERIC AND CREW?

IN MANY VIDEOS THE PROS FLUSH IT WITH THE GARDEN HOSE AND REGULAR TAP WATER IS THIS NOT CONTRAINDICATED FOR MINERAL DEPOSITS TO ACCUMULATE?

THEN A PREVENTIVE SEALER IS ADDED ON OLDER MODEL CARS, SUCH AS ‘STEEL SEAL’ TO SLOW DOWN INNER EROSION OF ENGINE BLOCK. WHAT ARE YOUR SCIENTIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS ON THIS SUBJECT?

I CAN’T FIND THE FUEL FILTER IN THE ENGINE YET I DID FIND ONE UNDERNEATH THE CAR’S GAS TANK?

for a thero coolant flush first drain out all the old coolant from your engine, then put in distilled water until system is full, once system is bled of air and car is running with only distilled water in the cooling system, let the engine reach operational temperature and turn your heat onto max and let the car run for a few minutes at operational temperature…

once the car has ran a while at operational temperature turn the car off, remove your thermostat, drain the water out, and run clean water through the engine block in the reverse direction of usual flow with a guardian hose, this helps break loose deposits that would otherwise stay in there if you where too run water through in the same direction, you remove the thermostat so you can do this flush without the thermostat stopping water, continue too let water flow through the block until the water coming out the engine block is clear and clean.

then with the radiator do the same thing run water through the radiator opposite of usual directional flow with a garden hose until water coming from the radiator is clean and clear

then do so with the heater core, running water through the opposite direction of usual flow until water coming out the other end of heater core is clear and clean….

connect everything back together, this is a good time too install a brand new thermostat, and re fill the cooling system with specified mixture of coolant and water usually a 50/50 mix if not already pree diluted, then bleed the cooling system as specified

here is a video on bleeding the cooling system.

this is a very important step because if you don’t do this it can cause air pockets where the cooling system can develope hot spots which can do nasty things like blow head gaskets, some cars do not have bleeder screws, some cars have bleeder screws in different locations usually near the thermostat, some cars have more than one bleeder screw, the 3100SFI in GM cars have more than one bleeder screw.

        good luck.
