      hey guys just finished a vtec d15b in my honda concerto and i didnt get the engine with the distributor so i tried using my non vtec distributor and i kno it wont mount up exactly like the vtec ones but i made it fit and i tried cranking it but it back fired through the intake so i chnge the position of the distributor and tried it again but now it misfires from the exhaust with no kinda start but i have spark and fuel and new plug wires and eh firing order is correct need to kno guys, need your help asap

        What year engine and distributor are you using? I would do a parts search and see if your distributor will work with the new engine. The fact that you had to ‘make it fit’ suggests to me that it won’t. You will probably have to buy the correct distributor to even have a chance at getting the car running.

          I agree with Beefy.

          That distributor may not even be compatible with your engine.

            the engine is from a 92 del sol and the dizzy am trying is from a 92 non vtec civic i know for sure this aint the same but i researched alot and sum guys said it work but thnxc much guys i will source the correct dizzy most like imight have toorder it cuz my island doesnt have much honda support

                I could have sworn I responded to this at some point. Anyway I agree, install the correct distributor with an OE unit, the aftermarket distributors for Honda’s are junk and you won’t be doing yourself any favors installing on, you’re better off with a used Honda unit than a new aftermarket in my opinion.
