I have tried to replace the water pump on a vw polo 1.4l. After thinking with the wrong part of my body i agreed to help a girl replace her water pump. I have not done this befor but after watching some youtube i felt confident and had a crack i was careful and know that keeping the alignment on the pullys of the cam belt is important. In finishing i atempted to start it up again only to get whits smoke coming out the top of the engine and no ignition. Have i messed up the alignment? Any help would be amazing!
