You might also be getting some mold growing on the evaporator core

consult your owners manual for a cabin air filter. I don’t
think your car has one. I don’t think they came on the
seen until 2000. Heres a video on how to solve the issue.
also check that the ac drain is clear.

The drain needs to be able to remove the condensate that accumulates on the evap if it can’t get rid of it because it’s being blocked, the moisture will remain inside and you can get mold and other things growing there, which are not supposed to and may be your problem.
