YouTube Certified Mechanics -ETCG1
We’ve all seen these people in the comments. They come right out of the gate insisting they know something when in truth, they have little to no experience with the subject they claim to be an expert about.
The YouTube certified contingent can be a real PITA. But here’s where I struggle. I feel in some small way I’m part of the problem.
My intention has always been to help empower my viewers to do their own repairs. I fear that in some ways I’m also enabling the YouTube certified contingent. That is not my intention.
Either way, I appreciate it when you watch my videos, repair or otherwise. I hope you keep doing it. Just please don’t consider yourself an expert just because you watched my videos. Truth be told, I’m pretty ignorant about a lot of things myself and I have a lot to learn yet.
If you’d like to make a suggestion about a future show you can post it here: https://www.ericthecarguy.com/kunena/9-ETCG-Suggestion-Box
