Ok I’ll look into that. Yea just just the oddest thing. I haven’t been driving it to work because I don’t wanna get stranded in the parking lot just in case, but for shits and giggles everyday when I get home I start it and it starts every time 😆. I just know when I take it somewhere far is the day it won’t start. Smh

Yeah when I have the time I GUESS! I’ll take the switch out and replace it. Since cheap… If that’s not it though, I’m most likely done with the car lol. Had it for damn near 12 years lol it’s starting to have problems every couple months.

About to upload a video to YouTube. Maybe someone here can send me in the right direction because honestly I’m thinking about getting rid of it now.

Does anything think this could be an ignition switch issue? The headlights, dome lights, chime. Keyless entry and door panal button locks work but anything that has to do with power while the key is in the ignition doesnt.. radio, dash lights, power windows.. the battery was tested and is tight. As far as I can tell everything else is tight.

I just can’t win with this car… so after starting fine for a few days, I go back out and the car wont start again. It’s the strangest thing. The headlights, dome light, keyless entry and chime all work. But I’m getting absolutely no crank no dash lights no power windows. I took the battery to auto zone they charged it 100% and it showed a good battery.. WTF.

Ok I will try that out. What I really need to do is pass that stupid emissions test. Then I can mess around with it all I want and drive it legally and test stuff out. Just need to get a couple drive cycles under my belt without it dying because the CEL went off when I fixed the thermostat.

Ok strangest thing just happend.. I went out to check the batteries CCA its 735 on the battery. I said screw it and tried to start the car and it started. Its 130am here about 10 degrees. Earlier at maybe 8ishpm it was 6 degrees and it didnt start. Wtf? Lol I didnt touch it since 8 no jump or anything.

The thermostat was the cause of the CEL. Yeah the dash lights and radio will work just wont turn over. Just clicks unless I jump it. Once I jump it, it drives for as long as I want. Sits for a few hours and its toast but lights, radio, dome light, headlight and chime works. I bought a AC delco battery from Menards.

That smaller wire your seeing is a replacement because the original was bad and autozone instead of opening a box and giving me one they gave me a single loose one. It looks different but it snaps in. It was doing it before and after I switched out that wire. I’m going to try a couple things you guys suggested and see what happens.

Kind of hard unless your here feeling the sputter but here’s a short video. Seems to get worse when in gear.

I don’t have a scanner tool unfortunately… I remember 2 plugs in the back being worn. Gap tool had 2 to be around .90 where the correct gap is .60. I was for sure that was going to be the issue but like I said plug and wire change didn’t change anything. Power balance I am unfamiliar how that works. I’m going to make a video of what it’s doing soon. Thanks to everyone!

Hey, 3.4 base model no super charge. I used auto lite platinum plugs. Which I thought maybe I should have used delco. No vacuum or coolant leak that I know of. Was thinking of doing a vacuum test after watching Eric’s video. Thanks
