Ok so I figured out the installation sequence, but need parts, so junkyard it is. I’m missing some large and small cylindrical tubes and some springs. One question I have.
After putting everything back together there’s a good chance it will be out of alignment/timing. Can I put the engine at TDC before reinstalling everything, or will that make it worse?

You’re right, it’s the tube, I went back and corrected it

I don’t remember what I wrote, nor can I see it, I’m new to this forum, but oil is getting into the spark plug well itself. I know so because when I pull out a spark plug wire it is covered with oil. I just ordered a fel pro gasket set which looks like it has the seals that belong under the rocker arm. Hope that answers your question
