on a side note: I love my meter, but if i had to do it again:
I find my self needing to check rpm’s on old cars (tachometer) some meters have this.
I also find that this nice meter lacks an auto shutoff. I have killed 2 9-volt batteries and they are around $5-$6 each.

I would look for auto range, auto shutoff, rpm if needed, and 20 amps, and true rms if needed.

I got mine for my in progress electrical engineering degree. Its not for automotive but will work. I looked at fluke, BK, and uni-t. For automotive you will want something with a higher amp ratting as some will have a 10 amp max. look for a good 20 amp.

any way I ended up with the uni-t ut61e. give these video’s a look.

mjlorton has other good review videos.

quick rant: I just hate Nissan wire diagrams and connector views for there testing info.
              Issue fixed:
cleaned MAF, IACV, adjusted TPS. It ran better but still stalled. found the IACV had two connectors, one was not hooked up. Fixed!

              thanks guys.

on a side not anyone know how to explain the way alldata worded the compression specs?
psi/rpm and max is 199/1350 min is 171/1350. vs standard 178 psi minimum 149 psi 14 psi between cylinders.

heat oxides metal…. flux plus heat cleans metal, solder flows in and makes good connection.

A good iron/ stations makes worlds of difference. the best budget station I would get would be an hakko 888. It will set you back about ~100. Heat up times are almost nonexistent.

a good read for learning about lots of solder stuff

I had the same thought that started this post and started running pros and cons my self. I am in electrical engineer classes but have no training in crimp connectors. What i do know is it all depends. I have had bad luck with the cheap crimps, but the costly ones you heat up and epoxy melts and seals the end work good. now for solder. the big thing here is type of solder used. acid is involved with the flux and does bad things if not cleaned correctly. the high heat also cause issues to the insulation of the wires.

its a 1.6L xe i got those specs from alldata. Its been know to be wrong. I will go check the shop man. I know the people and they got a new car. they drove it and had no problem until they parked it aside from cv joint thats going out. I trust them.

I think its just the gas.

had an idea to day at work.:
Can i unhook the fuel filter and put hose in jug then empty the gas by turning the key? disabling the starter and spark for safety. Will this hurt the fuel pump?

                          thanks
edit: alldata has it listed as psi/rpm and max is 199/1350 min is 171/1350. I dont understand this but when i checked the shop man college man was right, thank you for pointing this out.
