wow cops in your town must be real assholes, and would absolutely despise my brother’s ford. a 72 short piped with dual burned out cherry bombs as “mufflers”.

OR law says 93db max, just running the cat and pipe i was at 92. maybe your state is a little more stringent. always look up local laws first, and if you are right at the limit, determine if its worth being harassed by the po-po even though you are right in the legal limit.

heres a good website of flowmaster exhausts. then type in a youtube search and get a vague idea of what each sounds like on your application http://www.flowmastermufflers.com/?page_id=10995

on my 88 ive run stock, a flowmaster 70 series, cherry bombs, and now 40 series dual. If you want a nice tone get a catback system from summit racing or jegs with a 70 series on it. I like the sound of no cat with the dual 40 series flowies.

have you thought about running with a full pipe no muffler and just the cats? its not that loud and might give you the sound you like. And its free.

theres also a back to black product you can buy. by no means a permanant fix but makes it look good for a little while.

when the clearcoat on my car was still in one piece i used to hand wax, the car. i would use gold class or ice on mine. gold class doesnt last long, a month or so in the summer, but it goes on well and comes off easily. I also used a clay block before i did my first, and last wax for the year.

what is the point of locking a stereo/nav if all you have to do to unlock it is get the serial number and call the dealer? seems like a stupid feature designed to annoy diy’ers to me.

was just re-reading the responses to this thread and i can see where nick was coming from given where he lives. cant afford a decent set of wheels? just hop a transit bus or tram or whatever they have up there. its a common thought of those that live in larger metropolitan areas. Some people dont seem to realize that not all people live where there is an abundance of public transportation. Or ANY public transportation at all. For example. I live 17 miles from my job. i work 8-5 Sunday thru thursday. While we do have public transit buses, the nearest stop to my house is 2 miles away. the nearest stop to my work is another 2 miles away. it takes 2 hours and 3 bus changes to get from nearest stop to nearest stop. buses START running at 7am, and get to each outer point at 8am. they do not run on sundays or any banker holiday.

So you might think i should take a taxi, well ive had to do that once or twice. it was 14.50 one way. do that twice a day and thats 29.00 a day. 5 days a week. And that’s just to work and back. Its cheaper to buy a 400.00 car from a tow yard and run it until it blows up. If you are wise about the choice, you can get a good 6 months maybe a year out of something that cheap without something too bad happening. You dont spend thousands on repairs for these cars, you run them until something drastic breaks, like the trans or the engine itself and then get a new one.

Had an s10 like that for a while, leaked oil out of every gasket it had, only had gears 1 3 and 4, wiring was shot and everything was wired to toggle switches on the dash. no heat no radio, no seats other than the drivers, mismatched tires everywhere, picked it up for 320.00 drove it a year until the trans in my big truck was replaced, and then scrapped it for 150.00.
