      update on this dakota… we found a motor and pulled the bad one… found a 3 inch hole in # 2 cylender..unknown how this happend but i think it had some thing to do with the BB s we found in the intake….. ha ha ha

          i worked on coal hauling tandoms and riggs… out in the weather beside the road.. wherever they broke down.. i am sure that the trash units are terrible and can imagine.. but think about putting a rear in laying in the mud at about 33 degrees …. ugggg just warm enough for water not to freeze… and just cold enough to make life fun…. lol

              must add the 4.6 triton in an expedition i think it is… who’s idea was it to put the spark plugs straight up where they can catch all the dirt and road grime. and with todays motors you have plenty of time to catch all kinds of that crap in there so you can not only not get to the plugs you have the privalidge i diggin all the crap out and hope you can get you socket on em

                  just wondering.. could this be a mechanical issue????stcky lifter or something..A mechanical issue will cause codes.but it’s just a thought

                      well i lined it up on TDC and dropped the injector pump in and it ran but poorley… so i took the pump up rotated the crank 360 degrees and wala she ran much better.. So i am now replacing dry rotted fuel lines and a few odd and ends and calling the customer today.This rollback is back to making money.. and us being a new shop we gonna cut him a deal on labor for some towing work….

                      i do not recommend trying this at home.. and told the guy when you pull the pump … ALWAYS mark it remove the two bolts on the front of the pump. and take white out ,a sharpie ,anything and mark the pump as long as the engine does not get rotated you should be good

                          there is also a valve that stops hot water from going into the heater core when the AC is on…..this little unit will cause ya head ta hurt a lot…..i can not think of the name of this valve but im sure college man knows what im talking about check this before you go for the clogged heater core deal …..

                              if the blower motor is working and blowing cold air look at the temp.control system…also
                              make sure you are full of antifreeze because that will cause heater to malfunction
