Yeah, that’s what I thought. It just seemed odd that the 1st plate would be loaded in the open position. Worked on car today only for about 15min. I will try and take picture but I am not due back in work until tues. Maybe then I will chk. the engine compression. Thx.

Ok, so maybe I will give it a try. Any kind of JB Weld product that I should use in particular? Thanks.

Thanks, I was thinking of a filler type material, but the gash is in the engine block head where the cyl. head mates to. I am not sure if JB Weld would hold up to the pressure. The engine block fix article suggested using it where the oil pan attaches to the block. Thx.

Hey thanks, I read the article and it makes sense. Let me try their test and I will follow up and let you know what I find.

No, I am talking about where axle flange shaft (the flange shaft is what the axle assembly bolts onto). enters into the front diff. on the drivers side of the vehicle. I was checking the clunking noise and had the left front tire off and I noticed the “flange shaft literally almost hanging out of the side diff.

Thanks for the link, I will definitely try the procedure. The only reason why I am suspicious of the CCRM is because the fan is switching on when key is turned on.

Well guys, here is what finally happened. I must have tried the relearn procedure about 20X. Cleared the codes, got the CEL to blink but in the end I had the same erratic idle. So i sucked it up and bought a reman. throttle body “$230.0” and put it in. Same thing, I tried the relearn procedure and still did not work. I ended up taking it to my friends garage and he used his snap-on scan tool for the relearn and it worked great. The car purrs like a kitten now. Hard lessen learned about cleaning these drive by wire throttles. Stay clear and do not touch them. Thanks.

Thanks, the sensor 1 voltage does not get above the .45 as suggested. Just want to rule out bad o2 sensor before replacing the cat.
