The 4.6 liter Triton engines are known to have this issue. http://www.fordproblems.com/trends/triton-engine/spark-plug-ejection.shtml
Many manufacturers use aluminum for the block without issue. In this case, the threads of the spark plugs, or the threads of the spark plug holes, were engineered incorrectly.
I believe there are kits available that can retap the hole. I have no experience with them so I can’t report on whether they are effective. Here’s a kit I found on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Helicoil-5334-14-Save-A-Thread-Thread-Repair/dp/B0002SRF4O/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1421500105&sr=8-3&keywords=4.6+ford+spark+plug+tap
Check to see whether it will fit your engine before purchase.
Wish I knew more, but hopefully I helped a little.

I own the metric set of 0 degree offset extra long double box end ratcheting wrenches from GearWrench and they are fantastic. One side is solid and the other is a ratcheting mechanism. They are my favorite wrenches by far.

As a DIYer, I can’t justify buying the tool truck stuff. So, I have become pretty good at finding a balance between quality and price. Before they started being produced in China, Craftsman Professional tools were a good balance between cost and quality. I have a Craftsman Pro set of combo wrenches and they are great. Now the Craftsman Professional line is made in China and aren’t even close to the same quality as the old stuff.
Another brand that balances cost and quality is GearWrench. Yeah, they’re made in Taiwan, but they are much better than Chinese-made Craftsman stuff.

There was an ETCG1 video that referenced this incident so I knew what was coming. I kept thinking, “Oh man… here it comes”. I enjoyed the editing in this video because it added to the suspense. The ending was pure cinematic genius: don’t show the viewer the part they were waiting for and leave it up to the imagination. The Cohen brothers did that in “No Country For Old Men” when the villain kills the main character.
Sorry you had to go through this man, and I’m excited to see the second part.

For my Hondas, I buy Akebono ceramic brake pads. They’re expensive, but definitely worth the investment.

Thanks for the info. I think I’m going to try to clean up the rust and repaint the spots. I wonder if Honda sells the paint used for the wheels. If not, is there a good brand of paint to use that will slow down the rusting process?
