More then likely it will be your rotors being warped and your pads “skimming” across the unever surface of the rotor. ☺

in reply to: 2003 Toyota Matrix vibrates at idle #640751

As the p corolla Camry, rav4, tarago etc varients get older or have higher mileage the IAC tends to become blocked causing issues on at idle. Obviously since its use to control the idle air flow. Best thing you can do is remove the IAC, clean it out with brake and parts cleaner and reinstakk with a new gasket ☺

in reply to: Why not bleed a new master cylinder on the car? #640749

I’ve never bench bled a master cylinder because I’ve gotten into a habit of changing and bleeding fluid throughout the entire system because as those seals brake down in the master cylinder those small particles end up somewhere else in the system which could lead to braking issues or blocked lines. I know it rarely happens but I believe its just good practice. Also I use vacuum bleeders.

BarneyB is right stay with the standard filters. K&N is over priced to begin with and you only really benefit if it is forced induction.

Wysetech is right you’ve probably now done more damage by trying to find the easy way out then what it’ll cost you for the headgasket replacement alone. When it comes to cooling systems there is no easy way out just replace the parts needed.

in reply to: Possible bad MAP sensor #612192

Your vehicle may or may not be able yo run with MAP sensor disconnected but try disconnecting your sensor and letting it run if it doesn’t change anything then you’ve got a bad MAP. By disconnecting the sensor the computer in some vehicles have a fail safe to go back to basic tuning if it is getting absolutely no response from the sensor, other vehicle have a fail safe where they just won’t run at all without the MAP plugged in. Hope that helps
