interesting, a lot is subject to change though as companies merge, get bought out and change contracts. I actually have a tear down of some filters for my civic with an m1 and filtech.

I have a Bosch d+ I need to disect but I really need one of those oil filter openers as a Dremel and chisel weren’t ideal.

also here’s a comparison from honda for their filters

Honda OEM should be safe, however I believe some of their filters are made by Fram and have a different components compareed to ones made by other OEM suppliers. The A01 (FIltech) appears is the one to shoot for when you can get them. The A02 is made by Fram.

Have you checked your radiator fan? Kinda sounds like something rubbing on a fan to me. To me it has a very electric motor type noise.

            O’Reily auto parts carries wix.

At walmart i like the bosch distance plus filters. Some cars are very particular about their filters though. Kia/Hyundai come to mind where OEM is probably your only option if you want your engine to not implode. Motorcraft is great and cheap for Ford/Lincoln/Mercury.

bobistheoilguy.com is a great resource for oil and filters if you are into that sort of thing.

Check your manual, if should mention something like Toyota Type T, T-II or T-IV

It seems like Domestic & Import Multi-Vehicle: Valvoline MaxLife ATF (Full Synthetic) would work though as it seems to have all their specs covered:

You could also check with your dealer or get the fluid from them. I believe Toyota atf is by Mobil from what i recall during my last ATF research binge.

I just wanted to give an update. I swapped out the oil pressure sender yesterday morning. It was about as easy as changing oil, however slightly more awkward as the sender was located above the a/c compressor and oil filter so there wasn’t a whole lot of clearance. Since the swap it’s been oil pressure light free. WOOT!

Mobil1 definitely still does the foil(ish) thing on their bottles, it’s a pain to open without something sharp around.

Well auto zone couldn’t find anything as they said they could only find codes if the check engine light comes on and it hasn’t. So low oil pressure light for about 24 hours now so I’m probably going to try and swap out the sender switch since it’s cheap and seems relatively easy to swap out.

Yeah probably not a bad idea. I just ordered the odb2 bluetooth things just now, but I’ll have autozone do a scan and see if they come back with anything. The Lincoln/Ford vehicle health report comes back clear, but I really have no idea what all it checks, but i guess something (hopefully) gets stored for low oil pressure events. It’d be nice if vehicle manufactures would at least get senders that did actual values besides 0 or 1 but instead we have to get real pressure gauges -_-

Overall good stuff. The sound seemed a bit off though. I wish I could have caught it live, but playoff hockey was happening and i had to go in to work.
