Well, earlier I said I was coming out with a co-worker. Unfortunately, we are unable to make it. Hopefully next year.

Unless something comes up and we can’t make it, me and one of my coworkers at Virota are planning to drive out.

I’ve only sold one car privately. I believe I sold my 1985 Escort for what I paid for it. I only drove it 9 months and decided I didn’t like it after I had to put a new clutch in it. I was honest and told them it had been in an accident.

This happened on my Cavaliers all the time. I just tried to keep the fresh air intake cleaned off as much as possible. Got to love pine needles and maple seeds. My 2002 Rendezvous, in GM’s infinite wisdom, did not come with a cabin air filter but it did come with a place to install one. This is even in the owner’s manual. Of course, me being a parts person, I installed the cabin filter then listened to my husband ask why. I still make sure things stay cleaned off but that’s pretty easy because it gets parked inside every night.

I’ve had good and I’ve had bad. I’ve never owned a new vehicle and I probably never will, though it would be nice, since I live on a gravel road two and a half miles from the nearest blacktop. Our theory is drive them ’til the wheels fall off, figuratively, or until the sliding door falls off as in the case of our Silhouette, literally (see picture). Out of all the used vehicles I’ve owned over the years (7 of them not counting ones that my husband has bought), three of them I had issues with. One was from a family member so I didn’t hold a grudge. The second was from a dealership that was no longer in business within two years after I bought my car. The third was my fault for listening to my husband instead of my instinct. I don’t listen to my husband any more.

I could go on and on about this subject with all my used cars that I have bought.

Go figure you would work on a Cavalier after I got rid of my fourth one. Oh well. I do miss them. They are good cars.

Just an FYI: the EPDM belts do not usually crack. The old neoprene belts did which have been phased out and replaced with the EPDM belts. Gates has a free belt wear gauge that anyone can get to use for checking wear on your belts. Here is a link to Gates which explains the difference between neoprene belt wear versus EPDM belt wear which includes a link to get the free wear gauge: http://www.gatesprograms.com/beltwear/beltwear
