I needed to upgrade my tap & dies and got the most insane deal. You guys are going to hate me for this. My Mac guy had the combo set up to 1/2″ and 12mm on sale for $234 so I snapped it up. I work for a company that sells Irwin in its stores, and a convo with the night manager informs me that we can order through the rep from IRWIN things we don’t sell in the store, anything Irwin makes. So I order the add-on kits 9/16-1″ and 14-24mm. These are damn nice tools and any of you who read the tool flyers know they go around $370 per set on those. While I was at it got a set of the black and gold drill bits with the 3-fluted cuts on the 3/8 reduced shank. Set goes from 1/16-1/2 in 64’s. Also grabbed a few step drills and a 10 piece bolt extractor/ left twist drill bit combo set. My cost on that entire order was $500. I’m grinning like the Cheshire Cat as we speak.

Last weekend I went by a local pawn shop and they had a set of Snap-On 1/2 drive hex drivers. Seven piece set through 19mm (I work on heavy trucks so have need of such sizes). Paid $80 for them. Set goes for $230 according to my Snap-On rep. Got a Blue Point GM pushrod tool for doing intake jobs on V6 without unbolting the rockers for $20 at the same pawn shop.

Thought I was on a roll, bought a lotto ticket, didn’t win shit.

I just received my actron 9580 that I ordered off ebay for $89($250 at autozone). Also swung by Harbor freight and picked up a snap ring pliers set, a florescent drop light, and a 1/2 drive torque wrench for lugs and stuff.

I’m barely getting into automotive stuff and I’m a bit of a novice but I bought a crimper/wire stripper tool not too long ago to make a small electrical repair. It was a Motormite self adjustable spring loaded crimper, I did not enjoy the angle I had to use it in though lol
