Well, I replaced them anyway. With auto lite copper core cheap plugs. The wires looked good still. And they were some Bosch ultra premium. Got a new cap and rotor to go on today. Also cheap stuff. Check engine light went off though. Hopefully stays off this time.
Before you say air in lines… not the case.. brakes were tight before i swapped pads.. no air could have got into the sysyem.. swapped pads out.. brake pedal goes almost all the way to the floor… Im thinking maybe the pads have to bed to the old rotors ? iv seen this could take a few days sometimes? felt the pedal was so soft so i figured the drums needed to be adjusted YES they were super loose.. so i adjusted them.. Got those real tight.. pedal still very soft… Any suggestions or previous experiences? car is a 2003 honda accord not that it matters
Just noticed you said drums. Rear brakes. And that’s a quick swap? They a pita cause the adjustments…parking brake, auto adjuster…that never works. If somebody has really old drums, they develop a lip and you need a stinking gear puller to get them off.

You’ve gotta pump it up…..with the car off. Then bleed if necessary.

Well poop 🙂 things are blending together in my memory. I think there is another video then for adjusting the valves? Might be good to have a partner to spin the engine slowly so you can tell them when to stop.

I have no problem with pay videos…but I wish I could watch them for free!!! If you were planning on making a few, I would start with ones for the most common on Internet searches…like I’m talking to a rookie…someone slap me. There are many many honda timing belt videos…most of them suck 🙁 in fact I haven’t really seen a good free one, but it is comical to see people try removing that harmonic balancer.

Haynes and chilton books are alright but video is king. You really seem to have a way with the camera as well.

                          Good luck!

Good video Eric! One of the next things on my list is adjusting the bands in my Dakota. It slips from 1st to 2nd a lot and sometimes takes a bit to catch reverse. I have read much about band adjusting and I think it may help in my situation.
Depending on the vehicle, for just a few dollars more (literally) you can actually buy a new control arm, w/ bushings and w/balljoint. I would double check to make sure this is not the case for the vehicle you are working on. Save some money down the road and no rivets involved :)
I was gonna suggest the same thing. Looking into doing this job next on my truck, seen many places where people go through the hassle and then find out their bushings are bad too a month later.
