Apologize for delaying my response. Thank you college man for your response.
I felt this was something critical enough to let a pro handle it from here. Long story short, the shop was able to replicate the problem. They told me I may need a valve body replacement or the splines are worn on the input shaft. If either of those were the case, wouldn’t the tranny be acting funny in all gears? Shop also told me if the spline shaft is worn, they feel it would be better to just replace the whole tranny due to metal in the fluid. I told them I changed it just the other day along with the filter. They gave me the “deer in headlight” look So there thinking because I serviced the trans, it could be damaged.
I’m prepared for the worst but the car only has 77K miles on it. Would it be wrong of me to smell snake oil or is the shop right? I don’t mess with transmissions period other than servicing them.
Meant to post this in the tool forum, mods please move

Took the car in this morning. Turned out to be an outer tie rod. They showed me out in the shop, the tie rod was loose but not terrible. The car was already there so I gave them the ok to fix it.
Tommorow, car is going in to the alignment shop to align both the front and back. Should be good after then.

The rotating and balancing did help somewhat. Tires are basically junk now. I’m mainly concerned what caused the tires indentations. Car is still driveable, doesn’t feel unsafe anyway.

Like most things I get into, something either gets broken or missing. I couldn’t even get the lower engine cover off. My tool box has many missing or broken tools and the wind is gusting, not a good day to do this. I can’t afford new tools either.
On a personal note, I’m convinced I don’t belong near cars. Just put gas in them and go. Take it in for when it needs something. So I’m hanging it up here. No more working on cars for this guy. Just being realistic. All that being said, I don’t feel I can contribute to the ETCG forums. I can talk a good talk but can’t walk the walk by a long shot. So just saying goodbye to the forums and everyone here who answered my questions. Thank you and happy wrenching to all 🙂

I’ve done work on older Grand ams, this video might help.

Not sure about replacing the bar with the subframe in the car however. Keep us posted on your progress.
Hey Eric sorry for the delayed response. I ordered the sway bar with the end links so I expect it, no later than tuesday. It is a solid 33mm bar. Not sure if I want to do the work myself at this point. Given the video I watched of you, I’m thinking it might be a bit more than I can chew. I’m assuming Grand Ams and Grand Prix share the same setup.
I can’t do it Eric,
